5 ways to help your kid have healthy teeth and gums

5 ways to help your kid have healthy teeth and gumsIt's a good idea to visit the dentist at least twice a year. The dentist may detect early signs of health problems such as cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal gum disease. To maintain a beautiful smile, your child's gums must be healthy. Brushing properly, eating a nutritious diet, and seeing the dentist on a regular basis will all help to keep their gums in good shape. Visit us, and you and your child will appreciate having healthy gums after learning how to care for them from our dental specialists.

Use mouth was to keep away gingivitis

Gingivitis is a milder form of gum disease that develops when germs build up in the mouth. Plaque builds up between the teeth, allowing bacteria to enter and cause tooth decay. Antimicrobial mouthwash is necessary for correcting gingivitis before it progresses to periodontal gum disease. Periodontal disease affects the gums, causing them to deteriorate and eventually lead to the loss of a tooth or several teeth.

Avoid acidic foods

Acid erodes the tooth enamel, which is the protective covering that covers and protects the dentin. Citric acid-containing foods, such as lemons, oranges, and citrus fruits, are known to cause tooth erosion. These foods are nutritious, but they must be had in combination with other meals to mitigate their harmful effects. Soft and sports drinks, for example, induce tooth erosion because they contain acid, which is bad for the teeth. Avoid these foods if you want to keep your gums healthy.

Brush and floss daily

Brushing and flossing must be done daily to have healthy gums. Food particles may deposit and buildup in between teeth forming plaque and tartar. Accumulation of plaque causes tooth cavities and this can lead to gum disease

Regular dental checkups

Our dentist will detect any form of gum disease in early stages when you and the child visit regularly.
