For many, just saying the word “dentist” is enough to make them clench up in anticipated pain. We understand—no one necessarily enjoys coming to see us. But not coming to see us leads to much worse pain and suffering since you are very likely to develop gum disease, cavities, and may even lose some or all of your teeth.
While some would say it's almost natural to be nervous when visiting us or any healthcare provider, it's also important. You don't need to be afraid or nervous—we understand.
No One Likes Pain
We realize that many dental procedures do cause pain. Some basic cleanings can even be uncomfortable. We don't enjoy causing anyone pain, and we do our best to make every procedure as painless as we possibly can. That's why we offer a number of different dental sedation options and try to make you as comfortable as possible. If you are concerned about pain, talk to us about it. Let us know your specific concerns and we will do everything we can to address them.
The Fear of the Unknown
If you didn't visit us when you were young, we understand you may be apprehensive about what will happen during your visit. It's natural to fear what you don't understand, so we want to take the time to make certain you're comfortable with everything we do. Let us know upfront if you're nervous about what's going to happen and we will take extra care to explain every step.
We've worked with many patients who are afraid or nervous about coming in. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and you'll hardly be the first patient to admit to having a fear of the dentist. But if you talk to us about it, we will do everything we can to address your concerns. So don't let your fear or nervousness get the best of you. Call us today to schedule an appointment.
