Seaweed is not a major part of everyone's diet, but it should be. Researchers have recently found that the bacteria naturally created by seaweed cuts through plaque on teeth in nearly no time.
They were originally looking at the bacteria for other benefits it may have, when they stumbled across its ability to help teeth. So, now attempts are being made to harness the bacteria so it can be used in a toothpaste and help prevent tooth decay. Ways of Adding Seaweed Into Your DietIf you like the flavor of seaweed, then you want to be sure to eat it as often as you can. Add it into your daily diet, and see if you notice a difference in your teeth. However, for those that are not big fans, there are other ways of being able to get the benefits. You can add little bits of seaweed paste or flakes into each meal you have during the day. This adds the benefits of seaweed without adding anything to the flavor. You can also add spirulina into things like hot cereal and oatmeal, and drinks like smoothies. This also gives you the benefits without the worry of adding something into it that doesn't taste the way you want. Talk to your dentist during your next appointment about the benefits of seaweed on your teeth. If your dentist has heard the research, they can advise other ways of boosting the benefits you will receive. They may have other ideas of foods that give you the same overall benefit that you may want to try. Some of those foods may also be combined with foods you already eat, allowing your mouth to reap the benefits. Your dentist has lots of ideas on what can benefit your mouth, so ask their advice and see which options you can work into your routine.
