Ways to Smile
There are a lot of ways to smile. You can have a broad grin or a simple tilt of your lips. What most people agree on though, is that if the smile doesn't reach the eyes is the person truly smiling? First impressions count and a team of research scientists and dentists who work for a home whitening kid company went to work to see if smiles do mean anything in particular. And what type of smile means what? Here's what they found.
What Does Your Smile Mean?
If you show a lot of your gums when you smile you may be embarrassed, but the research shows that a smile like that is associated with innocence. Beyoncé is an example of the innocent smile. On the other hand, if you have prominent canines when you smile, you are perceived as a dominant personality. Kate Moss would reflect this particular smile. So, what about smiling with a gap in your teeth? Some people with gaps in their teeth hide them while others have cosmetic dental procedures to get gaps in their teeth. Why? Gaps in your teeth are perceived as attractive. Madonna is an example of this.
For those of you who think they have too many teeth and their mouth is overcrowded, fear not. An overcrowded mouth and a wide grin to show it project success. Ask Julia Roberts, she is the example.
And if you have bright, white teeth and they are in perfect symmetry you are deemed to be a perfectionist. It makes people think that your self-image is most important to you and your appearance is everything.
